I woke up early this morning, fully intending to be a responsible adult: clean the house, meal prep, maybe finally organize that junk drawer we all pretend doesn’t exist. What I wasn’t ready for was to be smacked in the face by an absolute banger before I’d even had my coffee — and to get hit with the news that one of my favorite artists would be coming to Canadian lands. Well, I guess I will be visiting Toronto again very soon, and perhaps… Montreal as well.
If God is a weapon, blessed be my credit card.
But enough of me rambling — let’s attempt to keep this semi-professional.
For starters, I had heard rumors that Ronnie Radke and Marilyn Manson would be joining forces to drop a new track, but I didnt give much thought as the whole thing was overshadowed by the chaos of Brittany Furlan and the catfishing incident. However, today the rumor turned out to be true — now it makes total sense why Ronnie wouldn’t stop pouring salt on Brittany Furlan’s wound. The man was securing his spot, up and hot in the tabloids, for maximum exposure. Evil genius? Possibly. Free promo for a new single? Absolutely. And I’m not surprised.
Now, I’ll be honest — I’m terrible at describing music in those polished, press-release ways. I default to metaphors, chaotic comparisons, and trying not to pour my soul into it… because if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I get intense. And intense is the exact word that defines God Is A Weapon.
The song is a dark, atmospheric power ballad — a vibe Ronnie doesn’t usually dive into, but one that Manson thrives in. It actually reminds me of my favorite Falling In Reverse album, Coming Home. It’s a breath of fresh air after all the metalcore-meets-rap chaos of Popular Monster. The layered vocals, those ghostly breaths and whispered lines, it’s like a tug-of-war between divinity and destruction. I swear, it feels more like a ritual disguised as a song than a typical single drop.
And can we talk about the lyrics? That whole holiness-as-feminine-divinity narrative had me in a chokehold. It radiates this eerie, sacred energy — like a prayer laced with venom. Honestly, it gives me spiritual sequel vibes to Cellar Door (back in Ronnie’s Escape The Fate days) mixed with the existential angst of God If You Are Above. Sprinkle in a bit of Sleep Token and Bad Omens‘ haunting breakdowns, and you’ve got the recipe.
Then there’s the music video. A full-blown, black-and-white cinematic experience co-starring shock rapper Dana Dentata. The visuals? Pure artistry. Every frame feels like a painting drenched in symbolism — darkness in divinity, light in destruction, the lyrics playing out in eerie, ritualistic sequences.
And of course, because Ronnie can’t just drop a track without completely obliterating my finances, Falling In Reverse also announced their “God Is A Weapon Tour.” Originally slated as the Popular Monstour, it faced some visa drama (because apparently Ronnie’s 2008 jail time still haunts him) and they had to scrap their UK dates. Which conveniently left a gap in the tour schedule.
I actually commented on one of Ronnie’s posts a while back , asking for Canadian stops, and guess what? Like the spoiled only child I am, my wish was granted. Falling in Reverse confirmed dates for Toronto (Sept. 10) and Montreal (Sept. 11). Vancouver gets nothing, as always — jokes aside, there are some cool artists coming here this year!
