Earlier this month, Hollywood Undead set the stage of Harbour Event Centre ablaze, and honestly, I still can’t stop thinking about it. On a Thursday night, armed with a bandana, a pair of sunglasses, and a rejected photo pass, I was there to scream my lungs out to Comin’ In Hot. And well — they came in hot.
But they weren’t alone. Zero 9:36 made his debut on Vancouver soil. And if you haven’t caught wind of Zero 9:36 yet, you’re sleeping. He’s an up-and-coming rapper/singer who mixes rap, rock, and alt vibes into tracks that hit hard both live and in your headphones. Think gritty lyrics, heavy beats, and that perfect balance of aggression and emotion. He’s currently one of the openong acts for Hollywood Undead and N9ne Tour, and he’s been absolutely killing it. Vancouver got its first taste of him this month, and judging by the crowd’s reaction, it definitely won’t be the last.
Set It Off came right after, whipping the crowd into a frenzy for what was still to come. The band’s setlist for the Vancouver stop included Hypnotized and Fake Ass Friends. Sure, my personal favorites like Skeleton and The Magic 8 (and yes, Elsewhere will forever be that album for me) didn’t make it to the final list, but I was more than happy to finally hear Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing (reborn!) live. Bonus points to my friend who managed to grab a crumpled setlist from the stage and passed it my way — MVP move.
Set It Off Vancouver Setlist:
- Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
- Fake Ass Friends
- The Haunting
- Evil People
- Hypnotized
- Parasite
- Win Win
- Why Worry
- Punching Bag
Then came Hollywood Undead. I was lucky enough to be handed a setlist ahead of time and was absolutely thrilled to see City, one of my forever favorites, on there — along with Lion, which sounded incredible live, and the surprisingly included Levitate. I managed to squeeze up to the barricade and experience the beautiful chaos head-on.
One of my favorite moments was the transition from Sweet Caroline into Bullet — it felt oddly natural and completely nailed the vibe. And listen… I don’t even need to explain how Everywhere I Go hit live. It was everything I hoped for and then some.
The stage, dressed with neon palm trees, nailed that West Coast, California-under-the-sunset mood. Though the iconic masks, once a big part of the band’s early identity, were absent — as they’ve mostly been in recent years — it still hit hard. That said, fans know the masks were slated for a comeback last year, marking a new era for the band! Their recent track Hollywood Forever already feels like a heartfelt thank-you to their community, and fingers crossed this tour is just the beginning of what’s next.

Finally, Tech N9ne closed the night with a crown on his head, literal boxing shoes, and absolute command of the room. He tossed towels into the crowd and delivered an encore none of us knew we needed. And here’s the best part — honorable mention to his verses from Ronald!
As an (unbiased — syke) Falling In Reverse fan, I wondered aloud if Tech N9ne might sneak in his verse from Ronald. My friend rolled their eyes and dismissed the idea. But guess what? A dude next to me yelled for it, and Tech N9ne actually did it. Ronnie’s face hit the screens, my hair hit the barricade, and the room lost its mind.
Next day: neck sore, voice gone, no regrets.
An unforgettable night of high energy, killer setlists, and a venue that knew how to throw down. Huge thanks to Harbour Event Centre for hosting this madness. Can’t wait to do it all again.
